Camping at Joshua Tree National Park - March 2008

We arrived at Joshua Tree National Park in time for the sunset at one of their lookout points. Unfortunately it was too smoggy to see out over the valley but looking at the unusual trees for which the park is named was just as fun! We set up Camp and while we weren't exactly "roughing it " we were excited for a desert hike in the morning before the long car ride home to the East Bay.

We took a 4 mile hike the next morning to a natural desert Oasis called 19 Palms. Along our hike we saw wildflowers and had to pause for a desert tortoise, which are very rare to see. It was amazing when we reached the Oasis it was 15 degrees cooler there.
