Hello Bears and 49ers Fans:
That's right this blog entry is about the friendly rivalry we had going on this weekend. We attended the San Francisco 49ers vs. Chicago Bears pre-season game at Monster Park in the city by the Bay and what a fun night we had! Thanks to Jeff's brother, Greg, we were able to go to the game while they were away in Michigan and we even borrowed all their tailgating tools to have a little pre-game party in the parking lot!

Not that this game counted towards the real NFL season but I was out there sporting my orange and blue like a true Chicago fan! (and alittle bit of yellow for Iowa too!) I was surprised at the amount of Chicago fans that were out in their Urlacher and Payton jerseys but then Jeff's mom reminded me that no one is really from CA around here :)
If any of you stayed up in the Midwest to watch the game, you'll know that Lovie and the boys look like they have a little more work to do before mid September! No more FUMBLES!!! The 49ers won 28-14.
Alex Smith, the 49ers $50 million man had a pretty pitiful season last year so I guess the only way to go is up for 2006! And ladies... he's pretty cute so maybe he'll be my west coast quarterback hottie!
In other games this weekend, the Packers lost to San Diego 3-17! What's up with CA teams beating my midwest teams? At least Becky's Cowboys pulled off a win against Seattle! Are they in that new stadium yet?
It's not the official season yet... and this was just a preview. We'll see if we make it to another game this season but it was very fitting: Jeff and I went to the 49ers final home game last season on January 1st and now we've seen them at the first game! Keep your fingers crossed that it's been as exciting of an off-season for them as it has for us!Take Care!

Sorry J, but I've got to root for the 49er's! If I didn't, my Dad might disown me ;) I mean my formative years were my Dad taking me to an occasional 49er's game, where I got to eat hotdogs and drink hot chocolate, life couldn't get any better, oh yea, and mom made me wear long-johns. Of course in those days the 49er's might win one game all season - but I loved freezin' and being with my Dad - oh those were the days!!!
I hope you guys can enjoy many more 49er's games - and especially 49ers vs. the Bears - rivalries are always fun ;)
Miss you guys, hope to see you before too much time passes!!
Pam
