The best part about where we stay in Scottsdale is that everything is within walking distance and we mean EVERYTHING from knitting stores for Pam (she made 2 scarves while in town) to wacky old signs for scary gun stores that make Jeff laugh, and Margaritas & Manicures at the Salty Senorita (a must for next time!), but we can generally walk to coffee shops, Old Towne Scottsdale and many great restaurants too!
On Saturdays, Scottsdale has a really awesome Farmers' Market

Shuffleboard games are always fun & competitive while we are visiting. Everyone takes turns with teams and has a great time! It's almost as fun as the Midwestern Bags game.

It was also great to see Stacey (Pam's sister), Bruce and her little guys Ethan (shown) and Owen this year. Although keeping up with the kids was challenging, they were so cute and fun too! Although we didn't get a picture with them, Jeff's parents were in Arizona in March for the first time in about 30 years due to Jeff's dad's semi-retirement they took in some baseball games, had lunch with us and the guys even went to a hockey game on Saturday night. It was great to get the families together and they were even going to lunch the day after we left.
As always, I feel so blessed to be able to see my family and spend time with them. Every time we get together it's like we pick up right where we left off from the last visit. Although I always wish it was longer because it never seems like enough time, we are grateful for the time we had to get away and spend together. Love ya Allmendinger-Wetzsteon-Bloome side :)
We have been so fortunate that every spring, my dad and stepmom, Pam spend 1-2 weeks in Scottsdale, AZ for a little R & R and sun escape from the cold weather of Illinois and it's just a short 1.5 hour flight from the Bay Area that we've tried to join them every other year. This was our 3rd trip to El Dorado Resort Apartments where there is everything from shuffle board and a pool to Happy Hour that starts at 5pm each night!
