A Day at Camp!

Drum Circle - Jack's Camp

As I start to pull 12 hour days at work in preparation for our fundraiser, Day in the Park! I have to remind myself why it's all worth it. So recently Jeff, myself, Greg & Ali visited the pediatric brain tumor family camp while they were recently hosting a weekend in April. This camp has been hosting a weekend family camp for 4 years and this year they had 7 new families! The weekend bring families with children in all phases of their treatment from newly diagnosed to remission, giving each family support, respite and ultimately hope.

We participated in the drum circle which you can see from the video was a ton of fun! And Greg took some fantastic photographs to capture the day.

I feel truly blessed to work for such an amazing organization that has a phenomenal cause and is set in such a beautiful environment. The families and children that we serve inspire me on a daily basis with their strength and spirit. Whenever I start to think that my workload has me overwhelmed or I'm disappointed in something, I just think that in retrospect those are all little petty things compared to what the campers live with every day! And I'm lucky enough to be a small part of what brings smiles to their faces and sunshine into their lives!
So bring on the long hours and event prepping, it's going to be a spectacular year!
