What a great time here in the Twin Cities, the TC as locals call it. Someone said that we are very busy for being on vacation, so today was a relaxing day. We went to the center of consumerism and enjoyed the MOA… Mall of America. It was a first for me and a second for Ms. Allmendinger. We got some exercise by walking around each of the three levels and seeing all three Caribou coffee houses and three Orange Julius’… that is 2 more Orange Julius’ than I have seen in sunny CA.Panera bread and their free internet connection were our mainstay in the afternoon until my favorite Beer-Master came home from work. When Sarah came home, we went out to dinner and had very pleasant and entertaining conversation over a couple margaritas…. Oh Jose!!!!!
The rest of the evening was spent at home watching ‘chick flicks’ yeah dudes, chick flick…It had Jack Nicholson, Dianne Keaton, Amanda Peet and everyone’s favorite 55MPH San Dimas High bus driver.. Keanu Reeves!!! does anyone know this title??? anyone?? Beuller? Anyone??? Something's Got to Give.Thank you Sarah! Our trip would not have been complete without a sidetrip North to Minneapolis. Thanks for the fantastic nights and great information :) And the extra help getting more pics on today’s blog entry.
-Ok, so we are spoiled rotten by our friends and family, but I (we) have to share the beauty of the latest happening. Jamie’s Dad, Pam, and Ashley have helped to create a travel bag that we opened the 1st day we left Illinois. The Package is in a small cooler, it has 9 labeled presents, one for each day. We opened the top and found the Day 1 present of a journal for us to keep our notes in, it is currently being used to keep track of the number of different state license plate that we see among other notes. I enjoyed Day 2 present of Silly String, but neither of us have needed to shower the other in it… yet. Then on Day 3 we just found a ‘Bag O’ Money’ how often can you say that you found a ‘Bag O’ Money’??? well we did, and buried in the bag were our favorite candies Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Skittles!!! Oh yeah!!!!THANK YOU FOR THE PRESENTS… FYI- St. Christopher and Our Lady of the Road are keeping us safe on our passenger seat visor.
Oh, and GND- don’t think that I can’t hear you, my ears are burning over here!!!
Adios Ya’ll
Jeff

dear bloggers/travellers:
You are making me envious - I want to go on an adventure again!
Things here are hot and sticky and too much work. Remember that - work? Jamie, is the ADA surviving without you or do you care to check up on them?
As glad things are going well for you both. Love the hats, guys.
later,
Mom Ginnie
Looks like great fun in IA and MN. You two are certainly setting the bar high for vacations. The rest of us will have to work hard to top your adventures!
Stormy weather in Chicagoland this morning. If you were here there'd be a certain dog climbing in bed with you!
Safe travels!
Denise(and Marty and Sydney)
